A while back I made a podcast while looking at this view, noticing the triangles. I said I’d draw it then, and I have.

As you get closer to Aoraki on the road to Ball Shelter it becomes impossible to see the mountain as it is blocked by the Wakefield range. Climbing up the moraine walls by the Blue Lakes gave me a glimpse as there were gaps in the cloud.
