The memory is of childhood in the Netherlands. Though it may well be a false memory, perhaps buildt on pictures from the Netherlands.

It was not really half way on the walk, but it is a nice title for the sketch anyway. And it is half way through the 1000 – I may be a bit behind, but pleased to have made it thus far.

On a recent walking trip with friends from to Sumner to Taylors Mistake and back.

I have this under Landscape (category) but it is imaginal. I am enjoying this one, but it irritates me too, I might make another version of it. And do some more in the style.

This one is back to “ArtRage Pastels”. Technically it reminds me of two others. Black Birch stream, from which I can learn more about developing the strokes & the colour, and Hill Lines where there is something about abstraction & line I want to develop. Maybe those represent two directions.

I spent a lot of time trying painterly versions of this, pastel versions, and then, unsatisfied, did a quick ink & wash which was the better.

Trees

Trees

We spent a couple of days in the Blue Mountains, NSW. Again we saw heaps of wildlife & I wanted to develop further the pastel trees I did earlier. But I don’t think this a development in the right direction. More to do.
