Looking at the jug in the last two sketches led to this one. Still want to do the jug too. Clicking the pastel & setting it to very soft is how I did this one. Tried oils but that was too hard.

Lovely teapot. And those reflections are great. The whole thing is so very 3 dimensional.
Thanks for the comments Karn & Janey. I have a sense that doing this realism is not really where I am headed, but I want to get a feel for it. The jug I did yesterday is in the same vein , I like what I did there with the background. it is on dark grey paper and so I can apply the pastels lightly and the holes don’t show thought. So there is always something to learn!
