Walter Logeman Art Project 2006-7

On the way I stopped at the Ashburton Art Gallery to see the Llew Summers collection. Good to do, an impressive variety of New Zealand art. Outside the gallery in the part were two Llew Summers sculptures – this one and Butterfly, the names and the moods are tender and fragile, the sculpted people are very heavy & round yet they capture the moods they portray well.

This interview with David Shenk, author of “The Immortal Game: A History of Chess” deserves a second listen, so it’s our Editor’s Choice for today. He spoke to the guest host of The Current, Derek Stoffel.
This is the third & last from the night!
I am sending these from Fairlie, on my way to Mt. Cook.

This was a children’s activity, and I will research it more – but I did the rubbing & now it is here but not as I said in the last post as one of the 1000 – it is here for inspiration.
Later: I went back to the gallery & asked about the origins of the work. They could not tell me but gave me the card of the person who curated it. But I have not followed up & lost the card!
