Walter Logeman Art Project 2006-7
I took the train to Beacon to see the Dia there. Great day. I enjoyed the view from the window and the hazy nothingness of the Hudson as we left New York. While on the train I painted this image in my mind. Exactly like this. What surprised me is that 20 min out of the city there is hardley a house to be seen and there is bush, not farmland.
I got close enough on the Staten Island ferry to have a sense that I saw the statue, and this is from a photo I took. There will be a few more goes at this. I got some other good material to work from while I was in New York.
This is from the roof of the building that houses the Allen Gallery. Typical New York water tower. Several versions of the sketch follow.
Found some old sketches, from right at the start of this project. Here is the initial doodle, followed by my taking it through various processes. I am now pleased I learnt how to do that. I don’t rely on filterin to do the job, but many of the sketches get a little post production.

No it is not the “Red Moon Eclipse” that is right outside as I type.
Something along these lines may be used on the ANZPA website. It is the Psychodrama encounter symbol, somewhat stylised. It is a symbol I find meaningful. Dialogue, meeting, opposites, connection and a uniting of heaven & earth. It is here because I was asked to do something along these lines. I was thinking about “green-gold” as an idea, sparked by a conversation about Black Gold, that still has not come forth, but it must be closer.
When you look up there is no skyline, there is a sort of circle with buildings pointing to the centre.
