No pen just using the computer to sketch and colour – is that sketching?

Later: Wednesday, 3 October, 2007

No worries! It is all fine! Now trying to find that software again.

Blacker

#59 Blacker

After #58 I realised I was feeling in a darker mood. I went for it with this one using the virtual pallet knife. As dark as I went there was a deep inner glow, which mirrored one I felt as well. Very reassuring.

Later: As I add this note 2 months later this one reassures me. I continue to hear from people how this is a favourite.

Montessori

Montessori

This is from a very old archive. In the early 50’s I drew these at the Montessori school I was at. Here is what I wrote a four years ago when I shared this with some people:

“I went to a Montessori school for the first three years or so of my schooling. We could choose activities. I drew circles and painted them yellow. Thousands of them. Obsessional. My mother thought they were wonderful and kept them in a box! I don’t think I did it to please her though. I loved doing it. This is what they looked like.”

Of course the word Thousands stands out for me as I read this.

#43 Lyford-Green

Went for a long walk today in the hills. Looked at the colours. A cloudy day. Thinking about landscapes and still focussed on Palm work. Here is the result.
